Aldi enters restaurant business with pop-up bistro

Designed to promote Aldi’s private brands, the chain officially opened its first pop-up bistro in Cologne, Germany, yesterday. With a changing menu created by German TV Chef Robert Marx, patrons at this restaurant can order discount meals that include a starter, main course and dessert.

The pop-up restaurant will remain open for three months, according to European Supermarket Magazine (ESM) and is part of Aldi’s “Simple Is More” marketing campaign.
