Aldi named No. 2 in NRF’s ‘Sustained Sizzle’ list

8/8/2017

Several grocery retailers with private brands are recognized in the “Sustained Sizzle” list recently released by the National Retail Federation (NRF). Seattle-based Amazon.com tops the list, which consists of 14 retailers that have made the NRF’s “Hot 100” list of fastest-growing retailers each year since the recognition’s inception in 2006.

Batavia, Ill.-based Aldi, ranks No. 2 on the list, followed by Goodlettsville, Tenn.-headquartered Dollar General.

Other grocery retailers with “Sustained Sizzle” include Phoenix-based Sprouts Farmers Market, in 10th place; Ankeny, Iowa-headquartered Casey’s General Stores, in 11th place; and Grocery Outlet, Emeryville, Calif., in 12th place.

The Sustained Sizzle rankings are based on the retailers’ growth since 2011, current and past rankings in the “Hot 100” list and overall revenue. Both the "Hot 100" and "Sustained Sizzle" lists are compiled by Kantar Retail.
