Amazon likely to foray further into private brands, predicts tech analyst

Barrons.com blog “Tech Trader Daily” reported on Oct. 11 that Amazon is expected to expand into new private label lines. Titled “Amazon: Pac Crest Tracks Rising Presence in Private Label Food and Goods,” the blog post cites written statements by Pacific Crest Securities’ Brent Bracelin, a senior research analyst who closely follows AMZN, expressing his belief that Amazon “was recently approved to use the Bloom Street trade name and logo.”

According to the Barrons.com post, Bracelin states that this indicates a likely foray by the tech giant into a much broader array of private label grocery and household products. On the same day, The Wall Street Journal reported that Amazon is going to open brick-and-mortar convenience stores in Seattle that will have “click and collect” pickup zones for products ordered online.
