H-E-B to open a snack plant in Houston area

San Antonio, Texas-based H-E-B has begun the process toward building a 64,000-square-foot snack manufacturing plant in Bayou, City, Texas, stated an article in the online Houston Business Journal. The construction site is less than a mile from an H-E-B distribution center.

The new facility will be H-E-B’s second snack manufacturing plant. The retailer already has a 40,000-square-foot snack plant in San Antonio that manufactures the company’s private brand potato, tortilla and corn chips, according to H-E-B’s website.

The expected construction completion date for the new manufacturing plant has not been finalized.
