Kroger withdraws lawsuit against Lidl

An article in Coupons in the News reports that Cincinnati-based The Kroger Co. has withdrawn its lawsuit against Lidl over alleged copyright infringement in Lidl’s naming its premium U.S. private brand “Preferred Selection,” which Kroger said was too similar to its “Private Selection” brand.

In a brief court document filed last week, “the two sides informed the judge that they have agreed to dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice, which means the case is permanently over and Kroger cannot come back and refile a similar case in the future,” the article stated. “Each side will pay its own legal fees and costs.”
