Amazon Fresh Expands Frozen Pizza Offerings

Amazon Fresh's latest private label launch comes in the frozen section.

Amazon Fresh is expanding its collection of pizza offerings with three new private label products arriving in October..

From its namesake private brand, the retailer will release a Cauliflower Cheese Crust Pizza, as well as a grain-free, gluten-free Cauliflower Crust on its own. Amazon Fresh will also add a new item to its Aplenty private brand, a Wood Fired Crust Margherita Frozen Pizza.

“Pizza is an American staple and it’s no surprise that people prefer so many different variations of the delicious meal,” said Melodie Beal, head of Culinary Product Development at Amazon Fresh Private Brands. “We aid in that search for the perfect pizza by offering a wide selection of frozen pizzas, a rotating menu of fresh slices you can quickly grab or order ahead at the pizza counter, and all of the ingredients you’d need to make your own pizza online and in our stores.”

According to Amazon Fresh’s research, Americans prefer frozen, ready-to-bake-at-home pizza (30%) than they do fresh pizza from a restaurant (26%) or even delivery pizza (16%). Recent data from Circana showed that meal solutions including pizzas are driving sales in the frozen category.

Amazon Fresh will offer customers pizza deals and free samples throughout October: 

  • As part of Friday meal deals, get a ready-to-eat freshly baked cheese pizza + 2L bottle of soda (Coca Cola or Sprite) for $11.
  • Amazon Fresh Rising Crust Four Cheese Pizza will be priced at just $3.99 (reg. $5.69) for a limited time starting Oct. 4.
  • In-store samples of the new Aplenty Margherita Wood Fired Pizza, Fresh BBQ Chicken Pizza and Fresh Ultra Thin Crust Supreme all month long.

Amazon currently operates 44 Amazon Fresh locations and 28 Amazon Go stores in the U.S.
