Certified Origins acquisition of Seggiano will help expand the former's presence in Europe.

Certified Origins has acquired Seggiano, an Italian food brand known for curating products sourced from premium producers across Italy. The transaction was completed in October.

Peri Eagleton and David Harrison founded Seggiano out of their love for Italian gastronomic heritage and a mission to share it with the world. Since its founding in 1995, the Seggiano portfolio has continued to grow, expanding its assortment to include numerous product lines in response to dietary preferences. All products carried by Seggiano are sourced from more than 40 food producers in Italy.

Seggiano has a presence in the United States at grocers such as Whole Foods Market, which carries various products from the company including pestos, sauces and pasta.

"This acquisition paves the way for Certified Origins to establish a physical presence in the United Kingdom,” said Gerard Jara, president of Certified Origins. “This strategic move diversifies and solidifies our position in the European retail and food service market, ensuring that it can continue to provide exceptional products and services to its valued customers, especially in the wake of post-Brexit regulatory changes."

The addition of Seggiano to the Certified Origins brand portfolio, alongside Bellucci and La Bien Plantà, represents a transformative moment for Certified Origins, company officials said.
